A WORKING men's club has handed over £1,221 to Kemp Hospice after staging a Black Country musical evening.
Combined with several raffles, the event - held earlier this month - has more than doubled last year's total raised for the cause by the club.
It attracted more than 150 people.
Entertainment secretary Lol Bint hailed the sum as an "absolutely brilliant" effort from the village club, which has about 300 members.
Its support of Kemp started after Macmillan district nurses - who are funded by the hospice - cared for secretary John Lewis's father and two uncles when they contracted cancer.
The evening saw performances from five vocalists and guitarists and Mr Bint said the bash would be organised every year from now on.
"Artists are queuing up to come to the show," he said.
