WRITER, singer and broadcasting legend, Sir Jimmy Young is on at the Everyman Theatre next Thursday.
His fans are being urged to spend an evening with the great man starting at 7.45pm. In December, 2001, Jimmy received a knighthood from the Queen when his popular Radio 2 lunchtime show was attracting an daily average of five million listeners.
In December 2002, Sir Jimmy announced his departure from the BBC live on air during his last show. He has loads of tales to tell when he appears at the Cheltenham theatre, from his days as an amateur boxer to becoming Margaret Thatcher's favourite broadcaster. Copies of his new autobiography, Forever Young, will also be available, which he will sign after the show.
