A most interesting afternoon was enjoyed by members when the Headway Singers came to sing popular songs for them. The music and singers were conducted by Stella Bagnall. A nice tea was served for everyone and Margaret Stringer thanked the singers and helpers for a lovely afternoon.

Joan Neal, with her husband Geoff who provided the music, gave an excellent demonstration of sit-down exercises. Members all took part and felt the exercises were most beneficial to them.

The outing to the Hop Pocket at Bishop's Frome was a huge success with good food and purchases.

Betty Cook celebrated her birthday by giving a party to everyone. She was presented with a basket of flowers as was Laura Moore who had celebrated her 90th birthday the previous week. Flower arrangements were made by Muriel Wilkes. A beetle drive was enjoyed for a change instead of the usual bingo and caused a lot of fun.

It was with great sadness members heard of the sad death of Greta Field who had been a popular member of the WRVS committee for many years. She will be very sadly missed and members stood in her memory. A donation to the Marie Curie Nurses is being sent and a sympathy card was signed by all the members and sent to her family.

New members are always welcome at the club if they are over 55 years old. Afternoon tea is always served.

The meetings are held at the Social Day Centre, New Street, Stourport from 2pm to 4pm each Monday afternoon.
