NIGHT-TIME surveillance by environment officials landed two Rock men in deep water for illegally stocking diseased fish.
Mike Giles and Paul Evans were caught after they were spotted by officers from the Environment Agency emptying carp into a pool at Yew Tree Caravan Park near Far Forest.
Some of the fish were later found to be infected with a parasite which could infect stocks, Kidderminster magistrates heard.
The pair were fined a total of £650 for stocking fish without proper consent and each ordered to pay almost £1,400 costs.
Giles, of the Plough Inn, Cleobury Road, and Evans, of Quarry Cottages, both pleaded guilty to the offences on June 16.
