A £500 reward has been put up for information on a thief who stole a Kidderminster man's car radio.

Thirty-four-year-old Graham Walden said he was offering the cash for information leading to the arrest and charge of the culprit to deter people from buying the stereo, worth £250.

His TVR car was parked on his drive when the theft is believed to have taken place between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday, August 20.

The thief smashed through a fence and cut through the vehicle's soft-top roof to get to the stereo.

"Some toerag broke into my car and I would like to see them convicted because they get away with it too often," the freelance IT consultant said.

"Hopefully if someone sees my reward then people might shop them instead of buying my stereo."

Police spokeswoman Joanne Hammond said it would be a bonus if the radio was returned.

"Most people want the return of their property but Mr Walden wants an arrest and charge," she said.

"If possible he'd like the return of the property - but failing that, just information."
