SPIRITUAL healing - and physical refreshment - is a big draw for one patient marking her first anniversary at Kemp Hospice.

Betty Morrison, 71, who is seriously ill with bone cancer, has been visiting the day care centre three times a week since last October.

And she has vowed to keep coming for "as long as they'll have me".

"I'm not able to get to the church but we have a chaplain here and we have a little service," she said.

"I can't do a lot but I do a little bit of art. I live on my own and it's a place to share problems and troubles and get away from it all."

Betty is also a firm believer in the need for the £2.2 million expansion plans so more people can benefit from the very "special care" Kemp provides.

"We do reflexology and aromatherapy which is very good and helps my condition. And there's wonderful food and the staff are very caring and experienced. I wouldn't come here three times a week if I didn't like it!"
