COOKLEY quickly moved out of the Worcestershire League Division Two relegation zone with Monday's victory over bottom-of-the-table Oldswinford.
The villagers had been pushed into the danger area by losing to lowly rivals Hereford City two days before.
Against Oldswinford, Grant Snowball's 59 runs helped them to 171 all out with Russon claiming 8-85.
Andy Parker (5-42) then bowled brilliantly and helped ensure the home side were dismissed for 103.

Parker (5-74) also performed well at the weekend but could not prevent Cookley losing by 43 runs.
Hereford 173, Cookley 130.
Cookley seconds gained a winning draw against Oldswinford on Monday with a good all-round display from Ian Goodman.
Goodman (50 not out and 4-39) was joined in the batting stakes by G Brown (51) and Ian Benbow (51).

Oldswinford 139-9.
They romped home against Oldswinford on Saturday after great bowling from Adam Sellick (6-47) and Simon Anderson (4-44) dismissed Hereford for just 97.
