KIND-HEARTED town residents are urged to pop along to a forthcoming charity toy auction to raise much-needed cash for youngsters with disabilities.

The auction will be held at St Andrew's Parish Centre in St Andrew's Street between 10am and 1pm on Saturday, August 30.

The cash raised will go toward the children's mobility charity, Whizzkids. The charity helps provide funding for mobility equipment for those with disabilities and has helped many children all over Worcestershire.

Mobility therapist for Whizzkids, Joanne Maconnel said : "A three-wheeled trike for a disabled child can cost around £600 with electric wheelchairs costing as much as £12,000.

"The charity has helped several disabled children in Droitwich so far with another two waiting. We have also helped children all over Worcestershire including Bromsgrove and Redditch."
