MORE than 70 friendly felines are waiting for families to whisk them away from a rescue centre.
Seventy-one cats in total - one with three legs and one with only one eye - are prowling around the Danemere Petotel, in Tibberton, near Droitwich, having been found wandering around, lost and alone, in the area.
Owner Sue Quinlan said the centre was housing about three times the normal amount of cats for this time of year.
"The amount of visitors looking for pets dies down over the summer holidays, with fewer families coming to pick up pets, but it's been quieter than normal due to the hot weather," she said.
"I think the hot weather has meant families have been taking the kids out. Hopefully, they will start coming up to the centre now."
She said the cats, which included all colours and kinds, would make great pets.
"They're the best bunch we've had in years - they're really, really nice cats."
The cats, which cost £40, have been neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and treated for fleas and worms.
Anyone who can offer a good home is welcome to pop in to the rescue centre, in Plough Lane, between 11am and 4pm, to pick one up.
