WORCESTERSHIRE today began their countdown to Saturday's Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy final against Gloucestershire at Lord's.

The County have a hectic run-up to the big day which will gather momentum when they stage a 'face the Press' session at New Road tomorrow.

"With all the electronic and written media outlets in existence these days interest is high and we try to satisfy their demands in one session," said Worcestershire's director of cricket Tom Moody.

Practice will follow before the players go by coach to Colchester for Thursday's floodlit National League Division One clash against Essex.

On Friday the players will travel as a team to Lord's for an afternoon practice session.

Moody said: "The decision about changing rooms is taken well in advance and we will be on the left-hand side as you view from the Compton Stand.

"Friday evening will be a relaxed affair as every player focuses on their role the next day.

"We will arrive at the Lord's ground on Saturday morning hoping for good weather."
