BANK holiday revellers enjoyed some top tastes at Bewdley Beer Festival.
Forty-seven real ales from breweries across Britain were up for grabs at the festival, which took place from Friday until yesterday at the town's St George's Hall.
But, despite the massive choice, it was a Malvern Hills beer that proved to be the biggest hit.
"The best seller was Black Pear which sold out first," said John Wright, one of the 10 organisers.
Strong
"It is a golden, hoppy beer.
"We also had a local Worcestershire beer from Teme Valley called Wot Wassail.
"It has a strong taste and is a dark, rich beer. It sold very well."
The fifth festival attracted a record 1,000 people over the four-day period.
"Last year, we had 750 people," he said.
"This year, quite a few came from Worcester on the Severn Valley Railway."
On Friday night, visitors enjoyed the acoustic sounds of band The Dent, who played cover versions of music by REM and The Beatles.
An internet caf was also on the menu.
"Four computers were on tables on the corner of the hall," said Mr Wright.
"There were also three web-cams so people could watch the festival live on the internet."
Any profits made from the event will fund next year's festival.
"There were quite a few families with their children," said Mr Wright.
"It's our most successful festival ever."
