THOUSANDS of questionnaires are to be sent to Worcestershire residents in an effort to help them improve their lives.

Wychavon District Council has posted surveys to a random 5,000 addresses in the area.

These are asking people about life in their local village or town and raise issues such as recycling and leisure, and customer satisfaction with council services.

"The Government requires us to conduct these surveys every three years," said performance officer Alan Smith.

"It is useful for us to see what our residents think about where they live and about their council.

"The findings will help us improve in the areas which they identify as in need, and will also let us know when we are getting things right."

The surveys are going out in the post at the start of September.

"We are really interested in our residents' views and so we urge those selected to take part and return completed questionnaires as soon as possible."
