ADVENTURERS who fancy a jungle jaunt while raising vital funds for children with life-limiting illnesses need to get their skates on.

There are only three places left on Acorns Children's Hospice's nine-day Amazon Rainforest challenge, which takes place next February.

The chosen team will travel into the Ecuadorian rainforest at the foot of the Andes, where local guides and skilled boatmen will help explorers navigate the Rio Nap region on foot and by canoe.

Adventurers will then travel by jungle craft on little-known lakes and a network of rivers, as well as walking through the dense jungle.

Not only will travellers have the opportunity to see this magnificent part of the world and everything in it by day, they will also get the chance to take part in a nocturnal wildlife hunt.

Emily Henton from Acorns, which aims to build a £4m hospice on the outskirts of Worcester, said it was going to be a really exciting trip.

"There will be a complete contrast in accommodation from the comfort of a lodge to a night in a camp in the jungle," she said.

"It promises to be an amazing experience for everyone, but prospective Amazon adventurers need to book their place by the end of August as there are only a few places left!"

To secure a place, a non-refundable deposit of £250 is needed followed by £2,500 in sponsorship, with the help of a personal fund-raising advisor from Acorns.
