CYCLING: Joe Rowe continued his recent success on the track in the Halesowen Track League at the Manor Abbey Stadium.

The Wyre Forest Cycling Club ace was second in the 800m sprint and followed this up with thirds in the 15-lap points race and the 25-lap scratch race.

Stourport's Liam Preece extended his lead in the overall standings for the club time trial competition, winning on the 10-mile course at Warndon in 23 minutes 52 seconds .

Other times: Rowe 24-22, Chris Morris 24-47, Len Holbeche 24-67, Dave Wood 25-23, James Smith 25-58, John Callaghan 26-0, Richard Pedersen 27-35, Aidan Collings 28-0, Mick Gray 30-33, Bill Picton 32-15.

Members recorded good times in the Cwmcarn Paragon RC 25-mile time trial at Glenneath, south Wales, on Saturday.

Tony Richardson was the quickest rider home in the hot conditions in 56-22, followed by Rob Cole in one hour 1-38 and Gray in 1-11-38.

Cole was also seventh in the Heanor Clarion CC 25-mile time trial in Etwall, Derbyshire.

He rode a personal best time of 58-40, beating his previous best by 45 seconds.

Pedersen was also on form with another personal best time of 1-3-50, bettering his previous best by four minutes 34 seconds.

The overall winner of the event was Andrew Bray, of Team Lutterworth CC, in 53-40.
