A BUILDING site manager has scooped another prestigious national award for his work on constructing a set of apartments in Worcester.

Brett Workman of Roland Jones Homes, based at Little Comberton, near Pershore, was site manager during the building of the six apartments at Fairfax House on Fish Street, Worcester.

He was awarded the National House Building Council's Pride in the Job award for his work on the apartments, which took eight months to build and were completed about four months ago.

It is Brett's third Pride in the Job win in five years, which includes having attained the coveted accolade of regional winner in 1999, of which there are only seven nationwide.

"I'm delighted to have won again - it's a fantastic thrill," he said.

"I'd like to thank all the tradesmen on site for helping me to keep up my record and also Roland Jones and his wife Heather for their full support at all times."

Work on the Fish Street site was logistically difficult as access was via a narrow street, which required Brett, who has worked for the company for 23 years, to carefully plan each step of the project.

"We are absolutely delighted he has won the award," said Heather Jones, PA to the managing director.

"He is a hard-working man with an eye for detail and we couldn't be more delighted."
