IN reply to the letter (You Say, July 30) concerning Shrub Hill Station, I can sympathise with the person with heart problems who could get no help over the bridge to other platform.

The same thing happened to my brother who had to come to Worcester for a funeral, even though he had health problems.

On his return journey down south, he was told the train would go from a platform with easy access, only to be told it had changed, and the lift was not working.

No one could help him over the lines as that was not safe. So he had to go on one step at a time over the very steep steps and down again at the other side.

Luckily, my younger brother was with him to help with luggage - but it was still a very big ordeal. He felt ill and was absolutely exhausted and I was very worried about him. I am so angry at the service and bad management at Shrub Hill Station.

I feel sorry for elderly and infirm and disabled people (of whom there must be many).

It's humiliating for them as they rely on rail (especially when they have wheelchairs) and also pay good money.

They should not have to suffer this bad service. I trust that Shrub Hill will get something sorted very soon.

Foregate Street is not much better as again, there are more steps to contend with.

MRS J ATKINSON,

Worcester.
