THE race for the Crusader Worcestershire County League Division One title took another twist as Evesham leapfrogged Ombersley despite more heroics from Duncan Catterall.
The former Worcestershire star hammered an unbeaten 186 -- a new league record -- as Ombersley scored an incredible 340-4 against Eastnor.
However, they were unable to bowl out their visitors and had to be content with a 14-point haul and a winning draw with Eastnor finishing on 236-5.
That opened the door for second-placed Evesham who hardly needed a second invitation.
They demolished lowly Hagley by eight wickets to claim all 24 points and take a six-point lead at the top of the table.
Third-placed Kington notched a 130-run home win over Netherton with Richard Symonds hitting 98no while Droitwich claimed a 107-run win at Pershore.
Paul Bryan hit 122 for the Spa side before Adrian Field's 7-44 helped to dismiss the home team for just 169.
