THE brother of county Bali bomb victim Neil Bowler wishes judges had not passed the death sentence on terrorist Amrozi bin Nurhasyim.
Twenty-seven years-old Mr Bowler, an ex-pupil of The King's School, Worcester, and a former captain of its rugby squad, was killed in the blast that destroyed the Sari Club, in Kuta, last October.
He was one of eight members of the Singapore Cricket Team's rugby section killed as they celebrated the end of a tour on the island.
His brother, Andrew, said he found no satisfaction in the decision, reached by five Balinese judges on Thursday, to sentence bin Nurhasyim to death by firing squad.
"It was not a pleasing or a shocking day for me," said the 26-year-old from Feckenham, near Redditch.
"It was inevitable, but personally I would have preferred it if he hadn't been sentenced to death. It will just make a martyr out of him. He's just a small cog in a very big wheel."
