THE toss of the coin dictated the result of Colwall's home WCL match against a weakened Belbroughton side.
COLWALL 3RD XI V BELBROUGHTON
Colwall played all the cricket, with little or no resistance from the opposition. Having lost the toss Colwall were asked to bat on a perfect batting track.
Nils Purser (22) and Mark Shouler (6) got the home side off to a steady start with the former caught, trying to increase the run rate and the latter playing on.
This brought Andy Bishop (55) and John Berry together with a century partnership, ably supported by Clive Kendall (49no) and Mark Tringham (17no) in amassing 246 off 45 overs.
In reply Belbroughton never looked interested in going for a win once Doolittle fell to Mick Colquhoun.
Colquhoun proceeded to collect wickets with his variety of spin and flight ending up with five wickets for 34 runs off 13 overs.
This brought the Belbroughton skipper to the wicket who 'dug in' producing only the occasional aggressive shot leaving the visitors on 133-7 off 45 overs.
A disappointing game result brings yet again the question of should there be drawn games?
