MEMBERS of Arden Sailing Club (Defford) took part in a charity event raising some £50 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Racing was for the RNLI pennant, with wind varying in strength and direction, the fleet sailed on a short course in full view of the spectators.
The first race was won by Andrew Potts (Solo) just 30 seconds ahead of Alan Salerman (Enterprise) with June as his crew; John Tildersley (Comet) was third. While Richard Drinkwater was fourth having reportedly managed to coerce his partner Phyllis to crew for him in this race, though she quickly arranged for Jeremy to crew in the second.
The second race saw Alan winning from Richard in second, Andrew Potts third and Stuart Stephen fourth.
