I am writing in response to Josephine Bowen (Your Letters, August 7).
I would like to apologise to Josephine Bowen for her having been told to phone the Malvern Town Council when she contacted the district council with regard to Priory Park.
Priory Park is, of course, owned and managed by the district council.
It may help your readers to know that if they wish to report incidents of anti-social behaviour in the park (or anywhere else for that matter) they can contact Mark McKay, the district council's community support officer (01684 862443) or the Malvern Police Station.
As for Josephine Bowen's question about the council replanting flowerbeds that are damaged, the council's current approach is to replant in order to maintain the park as an attractive facility for the people of Malvern and visitors to the town.
In addition, as set out in your front page article on August 1, the council and the police are reviewing the measures that need to be taken to combat anti-social behaviour in the park continuously.
Stephen Leese, assistant chief executive, Malvern Hills District Council.
