MY family, some friends and I have just returned home from a weekend stay just outside Malvern. We spent all day in Malvern town centre. I must say that Malvern itself is a very beautiful and clean town with outstanding views and natural scenery.

However, during the day, it was inevitable that certain members of our group, including my seven-year-old daughter had to visit the toilet. We made our way to the toilet block situated between the theatre and the car park in the centre of town. My wife, my daughter and our friend used the female toilets and, when they came out, they all looked ill and were complaining about the smell and conditions of the toilets. My daughter was, in fact, ill, without going into too much detail here!

My friend and I visited the gents and were able to see what they were complaining about.

I used to work within the Environmen-tal Health Department of the Forest of Dean District Council and I am gob-smacked with the poor condition of the public toilet facilities Malvern has to offer. I am sure that if the toilet was here, in the Forest of Dean, it would be closed.
