WALKING along the Southend has become a dangerous activity.

I have recently had two nasty experiences, a knock on the shoulder from the wing mirror of a bus being driven too near the pavement and, this morning, I was hit on the elbow by the tail end of a lorry turning right from the Southend into Worcester Road at the Top Cross.

A young lady standing on the corner just ahead of me was lucky not to be crushed against the wall as the same lorry swung around the corner.

Had she not flattened herself against the wall she would certainly have been badly hurt, or worse.

Surely some safety measure could be put in place to remove the likelihood of a tragic accident.
