A SCOUT group is reforming in Malvern Link, about three years after it was forced to disband.

The 1st Malvern Link Scout Group collapsed when it could not find a leader, although Cubs and Beavers continued to meet.

Now Andy Massey, a parent of one of the group's Beavers, has volunteered and, from September, regular Thursday evenings meeting will be held once more.

Sandra Starkey, Malvern Scout group leader, said: "To say I'm tickled pink about the development is an understatement." Anyone interested in joining the group, which is for children aged from 10 to 14, should ring Mrs Starkey on 01886 832064.

Prospective members can also learn more during the group's open day tomorrow (Saturday).

It will be showing how a lottery grant totalling nearly £5,000 has been used to improve its Rodway Hall in Redland Road.

Photographs showing the progress of the work will be on display during the event, which runs from 11am to 1pm.
