FOR the third, and hopefully last, time I find myself writing as a private individual about recent events at Malvern Link CE School.

Your last two editions have shown the basic unfairness of a situation where the parents/grandparents of the children involved in this sorry saga can put their side of the story when the governors and staff of the school, cannot reply without running the risk of removal or dismissal.

It is with this in mind that I would like to ask the parents/grandparents involved the following question.

During my time as a governor at the school various procedures and protocols such as home/school agreements were put in place by the governing body in consultation with the teaching staff. During this time there were various disputes, they happen in any school, and using these mechanisms they were, without exception, resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned.

It would be interesting to know if the parents concerned in this case availed themselves of this course of action and if not why not? I might add that if they subsequently say that they had no confidence in them, one has to say that if you haven't tried it how do you know if it would work or not?

In conclusion, I would like to ask Worcestershire County Council's director of education Julien Kramer a question.

The accepted definition of 'institutional racism' stated in the MacPherson report is: "The collective failure of an organisation to provide a professional service to people because of their colour, culture or ethnic origin".

By this MacPherson meant the whole organisation and not just isolated bits of it. If, as Mr Kramer still insists, this happened at Malvern Link CE School, instead of rubbishing the school what measures is he taking to eradicate racism in his department?
