ARTISTS are opening their studio doors to the public as part of the second Herefordshire art week, h.Art.

Organisers of September's event have unveiled their programme, including details of the Open Exhibition at the Gwynne Warehouse Studio, in Left Bank Village.

The exhibition features the work of 21 county artists and runs from September 13-21. Work includes abstract painting by Peter Arscott from Ledbury.

The Garden Gallery, at Dents Cottage, Norton Downs, near Bromyard, will host work by photographer Les Norman and painter Pat O'Donnell.

Barrington House Creative Arts Centre, in Bishop's Frome, is offering workshops in subjects including willow work, textiles, mosaic, drawing, dyeing and painting. For details ring 01885 490274.

Furniture and traditional carpentry and woodwork can be enjoyed at Clisset Wood Oak Barn, Clisset Wood, Bosbury, and the Ledbury Artistree group will exhibit at the Old Toy Museum, in Ledbury.

The historic manor house, Hellens, in Much Marcle, will showcase a collaboration between painter Marianne Ryan and writer and performer Christine Watkins.

The joint work is inspired by Aurora, the final work by 17th Century painter Artemisia Gentileschi.

Artists opening their studios include Nichola Hopwood and Jane Smith who are showing stained glass and wood sculptures at The Old Thatch Cottage, Brockhampton.

Work by five potters, two woodworkers and a jeweller is at Wobage Farm Craft Workshops, Upton Bishop, while jewellery by Clare de la Torre and ceramics by Mark de la Torre will be at The Courtyard, Old Rectory, Stoke Lacy.

Stained glass by Tamsin and Mike Abbott and chairs by Rowan McOnegal are at Greenwood Cottage, Bishops Frome, and painter Colin Simmonds is showing at Nethercourt in Stoke Lacey.

Painter Michael Oxenham, of Bromyard, Brinsty Arts Studio, potter Michelle Yarwood, of Upper Sapey, and Ledbury animal portraitist Claire Verity are also showing. Mr Arscott will open his Church Lane, Ledbury, studio, as will textile artist Angie Hughes, of High Street, Ledbury.

Railway artist Eric Bottomley, of Much Marcle, is showing at 20 St Owen's Street, and meeting visitors on September 20, from 10.30am to 4pm.
