IF you like fun, if you like food and if you like flowers, what better way to spend an evening than watching an expert at all three giving a demonstration at Redmarley Village Hall. Bob Harris, the well known floral art demonstrator, will be presenting Munchies and Bunches on Friday, August 29, at 7.30pm in aid of Redmarley Church. There will be a raffle and light refreshments, and tickets are £5.

New parish councillor Mrs Yvonne Lambert was welcomed to her first meeting of Redmarley Parish Council by the chairman Coun Moira Hunt. The council is hoping to undertake a project to clean and renovate the war memorial and have the names redefined. Research is to be undertaken to find the history of those remembered when the memorial was built, how it was funded and any other relevant information. If you now anything do let the clerk Mrs Maureen Diss know (01531 650598) or any other member of the council. The clerk would be very willing to call on anyone who has anything of interest in connection with the memorial.

You may remember the report of the proposed sponsored cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats by Anita and Paul Jenkins and Andrew Trender of Redmarley. The ride was successfully accomplished without mishap by the three riders in the time planned. £6,150 has been pledged for the James Hopkins Trust and a cheque presented to them at the Woodpeckers Charity Fun Day at Ashleworth before the mayor of Gloucester and the large assembly of people who enjoyed the day. Congratulations to all three riders. If you have not paid your sponsorship yet they would be very pleased to receive it as soon as possible.
