WITH glorious sunshine, high temperatures and a steady breeze from the south, sailing could not have been more enjoyable on the Avon over the weekend and there was a strong turnout of both boats and spectators for Evesham Sailing Club's event.

The first race part of the Pursuit series saw Paul Baylis take a flying start leaving everybody on the line. Jeremy Higson was the first to catch up with him and together they shared the lead for two laps. However, Peter Green slowly closed them both down and once in front was not to be caught and then steadily pulled away to take a comfortable win with Ian Edwards coming through late to claim second spot.

The final race of the afternoon saw Edwards taking a huge early lead. Green did eventually come up alongside at the closing stages but Edwards managed to hold off the challenge to be first across the line.
