FIREFIGHTERS from across the county raced to a blaze at Derwent House in Kidderminster during the early hours of Saturday morning.
A small pan placed on the stove caused the fire, said sub-officer Pete Smith of Kidderminster Fire Station.
A neighbour led a woman from the flat, on the fourth floor of the tower block in Hurcott Road, when the fire took hold at just after 1am, Mr Smith added.
He said the fire was quickly extinguished and the woman treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
