ONE of the most popular horse shows in the district will be taking place next Sunday.

The Murcot Horse Show at Murcot Farm, near Broadway, attracts hundreds of riders from all over the country.

There's something for all, with everything from show jumping to best turned out and gymkhana events to enter, with winners picking up trophies and rosettes.

Organiser Lucy Albutt said: "I have been organising the shows for nine years apart from one break last year to have a baby.

"About 250 people take part. So many shows have falled by the wayside in recent years. We are very lucky because we have to much help from so many people."

Apart from the very full schedule, refreshments and a bar will be available together with a raffle with proceeds going to the County Air Ambulance and the British Red Cross.

The first event, ridden showing, starts at 9am on Thursday, August 17.
