FROM where does Environment Agency manager Roger Prestwood get his information about Severnside South in Bewdley? He certainly has not asked me.
He is quoted in the Shuttle/Times and News of July 17: "...simply not wanted by residents" and "this is not a loved part of the town". And who, in heaven's name, are "our landscape architects"?
In my opinion, as an honorary, amateur landscape architect, the bandstand is an interesting and attractive feature of Bewdley (and cheap to maintain).
As for this not being a loved part of the town, surely Mr Prestwood must have noted the number of visitors and locals who congregate there on a fine day, feeding the birds, sunbathing, or simply philosophising about life, and bureaucrats.
It is a popular area.
