DAREN O'Leary looks set to shrug off a hamstring injury and make his debut for Worcester Rugby Club next weekend.

The former Gloucester winger has a slight tear in his hamstring but took part in some training this week and is now expected to be fit for next Saturday's friendly with Stourbridge at Sixways.

"He has a tear in his hamstring," said Brain. "It's not serious, only a small one, and I expect him to be fit for next weekend."

Brain, though, will be without Werner Swanepoel, who is still recovering from an Achilles injury, and Nnamdi Ezulike (knee) while Mark Gabey (hand) and Gavin Pfister (shoulder) are doubts after summer surgery.

"I haven't ruled out Mark or Gavin but at this stage I would say it was unlikely because they are still feeling their way back into it," added Brain.

Neil Lyman will also miss the match because of family commitments. Brain has previously used these types of matches as glorified training sessions, swapping players after 20 minutes. However, he will treat the Stourbridge encounter as a proper match.

"We will treat it as a normal match," he said. "I think that's what we need now. We've got a pre-season campaign which gets progressively tougher so we need to prepare for our second game at Neath-Swansea and then our last one against Premiership champions Wasps."
