AN Indian restaurant in Malvern is holding a series of charity evenings to raise thousands of pounds for underprivileged children.

Paprika, in Malvern Link, amassed £1,500 for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children last year, when they gave takings from three fund-raising nights to the town's branch of the organisation.

The meals were so successful that owners Sabina Alam and her husband, Kashem, decided to repeat the formula this summer, with three more charity events.

And they are well on their way to beating last year's figure after the first evening, on Tuesday, July 29, pulled in £600 for the NSPCC.

"We have already given the money to Karen Seymour, a representative for the Malvern branch," said Mrs Alam.

"The restaurant has a capacity of 60 people and it was absolutely packed last time.

"But we are holding two more, on the last Tuesday of each month, and it would be great if we could fill the restaurant and raise as much money as possible for the charity."

The meals include music, a raffle and a special menu for the evening. For more information contact the restaurant on 01684 569 817.
