HISTORIC and unusual vehicles chugged and trundled their way through Evesham to advertise the Vale for Evesham Vintage Steam Rally.

The event, now in its third year, is to be held tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday at Knowle Hill, which is off the Evesham bypass, but the procession took place last Saturday to give the public a taster of what was on offer.

This year's rally - with the theme of Wartime in the Vale - has attracted a record number of entries.

Enthusiasts who cannot make it to the rally site will be able to catch sight of some of the vehicles as they take part in further runs around the area. Steam vehicles will also be paying a visit to Evesham town centre on Friday night.

The opening day will also feature an auction of vehicles, spares and parts. Admission on Friday is at the reduced rate of £2. On Saturday and Sunday admission is £4.50 for adults and £3 for children and pensioners.

The event will benefit a number of charities, including the County Air Ambulance, which will be dropping in on the rally on Sunday evening.
