THE search for the Pal Scruffts family crossbreed dog of the year is coming to Evesham this weekend.

The Scruffts competition, which is now in its third year, gives crossbreeds that are not eligible for Crufts, a chance to shine.

The Evesham heat will be held at the NCDL Evesham re-homing centre in Wickhamford on Sunday from 1.30pm, with registration starting at 12.30pm.

Cash from the event will go towards the centre's work.

Winners from Evesham will go on to Darlington to compete in one of four categories - most handsome crossbreed, prettiest crossbreed bitch, child's best friend and crossbreed the judge would most like to take home.

Winners from each category will then go to the grand final in London where they stand a chance of winning the canine accolade of the year.
