FENCING: Blakedown youngster Ashley Newton won the much-coveted "sword on a board" title in a Worcestershire competition.
Newton triumphed in the Bromsgrove Schools' Challenge U-10 boys' age group, swathing his way through strong opposition.
The Droitwich Spa Fencing Club member is due to resume training for the team on Tuesday, September 2, at Whitford Hall and Dodderhill School.
