A COUPLE whose eyes met across a crowded Elvis convention are on a quest to find their matchmaker - and ask him to be their best man.

June Perry and Michael Warr met eight years ago at an Exmouth holiday camp but lost touch with David Lloyd, the man who introduced them to each other, when he moved to Kidderminster.

The Elvis Presley fanatics, of Farm Close, Worcester, who are planning to marry on August 31, said it would be the "icing on the cake" if Mr Lloyd would be their best man.

Mr Warr, a 54-year-old postman, added his friend was a salesman for Initial Towels in Stourport when he last saw him, but said they lost touch when he married a Kidderminster woman five years ago.

He added thirty-something Mr Lloyd, with whom he was on holiday when he met his future wife, did not even know they were engaged.

"We want to contact him to invite him to the wedding and more importantly ask him to be the best man because without him we wouldn't have met at all," Mr Warr explained.

"Dave used to live in Worcester with his parents and brother but then we lost touch when he married someone called Zoe and moved to Kidderminster."

His 51-year-old sales adviser fiance, June, who moved to Worcester from Staines eight years ago, said they had tried every D Lloyd listed in the phone book under Kidderm-inster and Worcester without success.

"His parents have sold their house and moved on and his brother has also married and moved on - so we have no way of finding him," Mr Warr added.

"All I know is that he moved to Kidderminster and I haven't seen him since."

He asked Mr Lloyd, or anyone who knew of his whereabouts, to contact him on 01905 454247.
