THE first of what promises to be an annual challenge clash between the men and ladies at Littleton took place last Saturday.
Club captains Maureen Ford and John Lynes decided that bottles of wine would be better reward than a trophy and the refreshment was certainly needed when torrential rain forced the event to be called off after 11 ends.
Teams were selected at random - a move that saw husbands and wives on opposite sides!
The winners when play was interrupted were John Scott, Bob Holloway, Hilton Jelfs and Mike Emms who defeated Kath Scott, Tony Hughes, Jeanette Taylor and Betty Jelfs by ten shots.
Bridget Cresswell organised the food with help from Naomi Cresswell, Maureen Ford and Janet Lynes.
