POLICE have charged a 75-year-old man with murder after the discovery of a woman's body at her house in Mickleton Close, Oakenshaw, last Wednesday.
A post mortem showed 69-year-old Sheila Ann Lochlin died of asphyxia.
Police and ambulance crews went to the dead woman's address after police received a call shortly after 8pm.
Edwin Shore, also of Mickleton Close, appeared before Redditch Magistrates on Saturday charged with murder and was remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.
The Worcestershire Coroner has been informed and an inquest is due to be opened at a date to be arranged.
