THE climax to the club's Evening Summer League was fished at a local private lake last Thursday.

The winner came off of the corner peg six with Wayne Panting recording an easy victory with a net of 11.8.0.

In second place, and fishing favourite peg two, was Ron Williams (3.12.0). Two ounces behind in third was Roy Thomson with a net of bits for 3.10.0.

The club would like to thank Jim Ellis for allowing them the use of the lake for the series of matches.

There was a disappointing turnout at Hampton Ferry on Sunday when the club met at the River Avon for the second round of the River Trophy.

Fish came to the net quickly to start with then evened off. Rita Barnett managed to land three eels in a winning net of 3.4.0 as she recorded her first victory this year.

In second was perpetual framer Bill Scarrott (1.10.0) ahead of Barry Castle whose net weighed just ten ounces.
