DEAR EDITOR - Over the past few weeks I have read in your paper on several occasions of the ongoing talks regarding the Bromsgrove Rovers Football Ground.

There is talk about relocating the club to other accommodation. This I would be totally against.

Having been chairman of the Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club for 12 years and am one of the few remaining life members, I would like to be informed officially about the circumstances of such talks.

The Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club ground was left by Mr Charles Crane and others for the Bromsgrove Rovers Football club whilst they existed. The former Urban District Council were nominated as trustees and this presumably was passed onto the present district council.

While I was chairman, we were always seeking advice from the council whenever allocations were considered. The stand and the social club were both granted permission by the former UDC who acted as trustee's.

In the event of the Bromsgrove Rovers Football Club going out of existence the ground, according to Mr Charles Crane's will, was to be made into an open space for the benefit of Bromsgrove people, as Saunders Park was donated.

I am not aware that the present district council have ever been the owners, so how can they be talking about selling?

Could I, in conclusion, point out that it is useless making a will if the council or others can alter it.
