A REDDDITCH Council communications campaign designed to engage residents in the planning of the borough's community strategy could be in line for a prestigious award.

The 20:20 Vision campaign has been shortlisted for the Successful Communications Partnerships category of the Institute of Public Relations Local Group Excellence in Communications Awards.

The Redditch Partnership undertook a variety of initiatives in 2002/2003 to gather residents' views on what they wanted over the next 10-15 years.

Led by the council's communications team on behalf of the Redditch Partnership, the 20:20 Vision campaign will be up against four others submitted by councils across the country.

The winners will be announced in September.
