PICTURES of skydiver Stephen Hilder taken moments before he fell 13,000ft to his death will be shown on Crimewatch UK tonight.

The video stills include shots of the 20-year-old army cadet giving the thumbs-up before the jump, which was part of a skydiving competition at Hibaldstow Airfield, North Lincolnshire, on Friday, July 4.

Images also include Mr Hilder, from Burghill in Herefordshire, in formation with two friends at the beginning of the jump, on the bus on the way to the plane and wearing a blonde wig at a karaoke party the night before his death

A reconstruction will also be screened on the BBC1 show at 9pm.

A murder investigation has been launched by Humberside police on the grounds that someone deliberately cut the lines on his parachute.

"Crimewatch UK has very good results and may provide us with the break we need to get to the bottom of the mystery," said Det Supt Colin Andrews, who is leading the investigation.

"I believe there is somebody out there, more than likely a member of the skydiving community, who knows what happened to Stephen's parachute and why, and I am confident we will get that information.

Mr Hilder's funeral is due to take place next Thursday at St Mary's Church, Burghill, Herefordshire.

Anyone with any information about the incident should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
