NEW star signing Glenn McGrath will be linking up with Worcestershire in mid-April.
The Australian pace ace is due to arrive in the UK on April 17 and the County are hoping he will be available for their Benson and Hedges Cup match against Gloucestershire at New Road the following day.
New Road secretary Mike Vockins said today: "It's good Glenn will be here earlier than we had anticipated and will now be available for most of our early-season Benson and Hedges Cup campaign.
"Originally we believed he would not be arriving until later in the month, but he has now confirmed that he will be flying direct from South Africa immediately Australia's short one-day series with South Africa ends.
"We envisage he will want to be in action straight away, and it will be a real bonus if we can include him in the side to play Gloucestershire on April 18."
