ON-loan forward Drewe Broughton promised more goals to come after opening his account on his debut at Mansfield.

Peterborough United front-man Broughton, 22, is in fine goal-scoring form this season after scoring eight while on loan at Conference sides Dagenham and Stevenage Borough.

A £50,000 fee has been agreed between Harriers and Peterborough if Jan Molby wants to make the move permanent.

And Broughton believes he can make even more of an impact in Division Three after his Conference feats.

He said: "It might be a little easier for a forward in Division Three. In the Conference, players are striving that harder to get into the Football League, while in Division Three they can be complacent.

"I'm confident I will score goals and hopefully I've shown glimpses of my link-up play. But I'm so disappointed with the result.

"The game started off pleasingly but it was such a tough match with the pitch and the weather.

"Mansfield were a big side at the back but hopefully, being 6ft 3ins, I can take the pressure off some of the other players and create some space for the likes of Ducros and MacKenzie.

"Another goal was good for me and I went looking for another but unfortunately the crosses were lacking."

Broughton proved he aims to toughen up the attack after taking a knock in the ribs and being ill at half-time but still lasting the pace.

He added: "I'm really looking forward to the Hull game on Saturday on our own pitch.

"I want to get another goal and we need to cut out the silly mistakes at the back."

Fellow new signing Daire Doyle added: "Their keeper pulled off a lot of good saves and we deserved something out of the game. We need to start putting the chances away."
