I WOULD like to thank John Jackson (Shuttle/Times and News letters, June 19) for giving me the chance to state that what happened to him is almost a replica of what happened to my daughter, who is a hard-working nurse at Kidderminster Hospital.

She was returning home from work along Dunley Road - a clear road, not busy, like Mr Jackson's experience. She was clocked at 35mph and fined £60, which cancelled out some of her hard-earned money.

The policeman who booked her was hiding behind a hedge.

The police are doing themselves a great disservice, sneaking about like this.

Surely it would be better to be seen to deter speeding, not choosing this disreputable way of reaching their booking targets.
