CHESS: Kidderminster's John Varilone heaped further success onto the town's brilliant season by winning the Ball Cup.
Varilone defeated Brian Drummond, of Redditch, in the final of a competition which attracted entries from across Worcestershire.
He took part in the event, open to players graded under 130, for the fourth time and has previously shared the trophy with Malvern's Maurice Ginger.
