GOLF: Marilyn Wood won the Little Lakes July Monthly Medal on Sunday and, along with Mike Wood, was the only winner in a 4-1 defeat to Cleobury Mortimer the day before.
The Woods beat Cleobury captain Peter Colquitt and his partner Nicola Jarman on the last hole in the mixed match.
July Monthly Medal: Marilyn Wood 97 gross, 29 handicap, 68 nett, Sheelah Salsby 91-17-74, Alison Grove 90-14-76.
Ladies Betterball Open: Rose Parkes and June Critchley 70 nett, Rosemary Morgan and Rosemary Maitland (Bridgnorth) 72 (on back nine), Alison Parkes and Judith Davies 72, Carol Raybould and Mandy Evans (Little Lakes and Ingestre) 72; front nine: Doreen Hunt and Haworth (The Worcestershire) 34; back nine: Marilyn Wood and Wendy Mann (Little Lakes and Habberley) 37.
