HALF a million pounds will be on its way to a Wythall high school over the next four years.

Woodrush High School will be receiving the money after its successful bid to become a specialist technology college.

The Shawhurst Lane school heard about the success from the Department for Education and Skills last Tuesday after 18 months of hard work and raising £50,000 in the process.

The technology college status means the school can specialise in maths, science, technology and ICT while still being a comprehensive secondary school.
