WORK on building a 100-bed budget hotel and 84 houses and flats in Redditch town centre will start in September if plans are given the go-ahead.
Redditch Council has received an application for the old rail yard in Hewell Road.
The development will cover about 1.8 hectares and will take about 12 months to complete.
Plans for a Holiday Inn Express come alongside the council's own plans for two hotels as part of a £50 million sports, leisure and entertainment complex on the Abbey Stadium site.
